Unwintering

intangible the
alinear umbilical
recall the coil
unravel the spine
and stretch like
weft unwintering
trace along the
ground a line
to ancestry that
knows no frost
and there under her
monsoon sun
i feel the gentle
pull and trust
tomorrow we
do not recoil
our trails are
tilled by wrinkled
hands that know
to bend and
write in bark
what do we know
of fury that
stamps its roots
and stand
unbowed
there is wisdom
in these folds
furrowed by
rivers of
revolutions gone
and we?
the future
is possible
but like all
seed we are
of our soil
pull that
time braided
twine and
push
a sprout
of spring
becoming
