Hello! I’m Evie, the founder of Peaks of Colour.

I’m both a domestic abuse survivor and qualified domestic abuse specialist.

I have over 10 years experience supporting and advocating for Black & queer survivors with intersecting experiences of gendered and racialised trauma, and have worked extensively with services committed to ensuring their practice is anti-racist and LGBT+ inclusive.

In 2021 I left the VAWG sector after becoming disillusioned, disenfranchised and burnt out. Now, I’m interested in how nature can offer survivors of colour a radical, revolutionary space for healing and justice.

I’m also a freelance writer and am passionate about the liberating form of writing as healing and resistance.

As a survivor, nature therapy in the Peak District - wild swimming especially - has been integral to my own recovery, and Peaks of Colour’s Healing Justice club is my way of extending the invitation to other survivors to join me on this messy, imperfect, exciting and hopeful journey.
